Reboot with Movement Breaks

0

How do you manage your energy and productivity throughout your day? Wanna know my secret? I take movement breaks often and eat lunch!

According to the Center for Disease Control, more than 156 million full-time workers in the United States spend at least one-third of their day at the workplace.  We spend hours sitting at a desk or in meetings, with little opportunity for physical activity.  The recent epidemic has magnified this experience for many of us.

Our bodies were built to move throughout the day. When we’re depriving ourselves of that kind of essential activity throughout the day, things happen inside our bodies that aren't desirable or health enhancing. As little as 1 minute of stretching, deep breathing, or just standing and sitting can increase circulation and help us think more clearly.  There’s no consensus on how long the ideal microbreak should last or how often we should have them, so it’s up to you to experiment with what works best for you.  Tiny breaks can have a disproportionately powerful impact on mood, attention, and focus not to mention energy and mobility.

Benefits of rebooting with movement breaks:

  • Allows you to process and retain information
  • Helps you gain perspective
  • Enhances creativity
  • Increases productivity
  • Cultivates FUN

Now it's time for you to try it out!

Pro tip: Download the Fit Snack Printable and post it by your desk for a reminder.
